Fragility INSIDE - Figure 1 - 5
Iron, blown glass, tightening strap
2023
Where is the boundary between work and leisure? Does the activity we engage in during our free time serve as just another support beam, aimed at making us more productive and better at handling work-related stress? The Krehkosť INSIDE project delves into the contrast between the healthy lifestyle of the contemporary "urban" individual and their internal tension and stress. The work deliberately plays with contrasts, both in terms of meaning and materials. A steel body vs. a head made of blown glass, bound by tightening straps. Its shape is defined by external constraints - the tightening strap - which seemingly binds the material and distorts the head's form. The material plane thus expresses the fragility of inner experiences and tension, capturing the critical moment between inflation (growth) and material rupture. The artwork intentionally explores the contrasts between high and low, seriousness and irony, residing at the intersection of a design-oriented light object and a conceptual visual piece. It contributes to the current social discussion on the theme "Don't be afraid to not grow" in the context of one's career orientation, drawing from personal experience.
